barguestspirit: Had a question

Hello everybody! I had questions about the newer games for anybody who has played them. I played Jak & Daxter, Jak 2, and Jak 3. I really enjoyed them, but was wondering about Jak racing becuase the reason I loved the Jak series so far was for the platforming elements more than the racing. Not that I really dislike the racing it's just that I'm not really into racing games in general. So, how does Jak racing compare to the first three, and how does everybody like it so far? Also, has anybody played Daxter for the PSP? I'd appreciate your opinions, Thanks!

Well, I enjoyed X, but not everyone did.

It's a very challenging game for one. You will get frustrated. If that's not your thing, they you probably should wait for the price to go down a bit more.

However, if you like the characters and want to see another story about them, then by all means, get this game. It makes up for all of the out of character strange-ness from 3. It may be racing, but it's still a Jak game.

I hope that helps a bit

Thank you for the feedback. Ya, I played most of the extra races for Jak 2 and 3, except for the hoverboarding ones becuase those where too hard for me. I kept hitting guards patrolling the streets on the hoverboard when I was trying to do the extra races, so that obviously made it impossible to finish that race. The in-game races weren't too bad, they took some practice but after several tries and memorizing the short cuts, it was easier. The vehicle races in Jak 3 where okay, but it was pretty damn hard steering in the sand, I kept sliding all over the place. I think I did all of them though. I saw Jak X at Costco, maybe I'll pick it up when I have the dough. Does Daxter get to race? Does it have ones where you have to find objects within a short time limit? I liked those orb hunts.

Yes, and Yes. Daxter is an unlockable racer and there are artifact racers. You can't get Daxter until a certain point in the game though [forget when exactly].

krillandsteam: Newer Jak-ish game!!

Hello. I just came across your site...because I myself have this unhealthy obsession with the world of Jak and Daxter. (My sn is krillandsteam but it won't let me log in now for some dang reason). I don't know if you've heard (and it's mighty horrible news for those of us that don't have a PSP) but there is a new game coming out tommorow actually (March 14th) that's just called "Daxter". You get to be Daxter in the game and it's somewhat of a prequel to Jak II. Because you know...The Green Sage, Keira, Jak, and Daxter all got seperated for that two years in the city while Jak was put into jail and we all know that Daxter ends up bailing him out. Well...during this "Daxter" game...we get to find out what Daxter was up to for those two years and exactly how he got into the jail to get Jak out. Just thought you might be interested. There's not too much info. out there about the game yet...but there are a few interviews with the games creators and a few screenshots as well. So, happy searching. And...awesome site! ^.^
